Andy Charidemou, LCSW
Hello and Welcome! My name is Andy Charidemou, LMSW. I provide affirming and compassionate psychotherapy, both in person and virtually.
I am rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to live an authentic and meaningful life, and I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and groups feel capable of achieving just that. The goal is to help you find clarity, heal, and feel affirmed and confident leading your life.
My approach is warm and genuine, and I engage each client with care and curiosity. I strive to create a radically accepting environment, so my clients feel safe enough to tap into their vulnerability. No topic is “too much,” and I will always celebrate your courage
My practice is trauma-informed, and rooted in anti-oppression and liberation-based principles. This means that therapy for me is both processing our personal experiences, while also combating oppressive systems that impact our overall wellness. I’m specifically interested in helping women and femme-identifying humans work towards body neutrality and food freedom, as well as supporting people engaged in non-monogamy in a non-judgmental and affirming environment.
I have experience and success supporting diverse clients on matters including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-esteem, relationships, communication, and conflict. I can help you manage unhelpful thoughts and feelings, heal from the emotional impact of past and present experiences, and develop tools to improve your quality of life.
You can learn more about how I work with my clients on MyWellBeing. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for a 15-minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit! My email is andy@cmpcnyc.com
